Faja dos Vimes Viewpoint

The Fajã dos Vimes Viewpoint offers one of the most singular views on São Jorge, overlooking the only fajã in the Azores archipelago where coffee is cultivated, an agricultural rarity that attracts curious visitors and lovers of unique artisanal products. Located on top of the south slope of the island, the viewpoint allows you to contemplate the fajã below, surrounded by the Atlantic and framed by the vertical walls of the São Jorge escarpment.

Access is by road and the site has a parking area and benches for rest. On days of good visibility, it is possible to spot the neighbouring islands of Pico and Faial. The best light for photography occurs in the late afternoon, when the sun illuminates the fajã in a dramatic manner. The visit to the viewpoint naturally combines with the descent via the Trail of Serra do Topo - Fajã dos Vimes, which ends precisely in the coffee fajã.
