Alcides Restaurant

Alcides Restaurant is one of the most emblematic dining establishments in Ponta Delgada, with decades of history and a solid reputation in traditional Azorean cuisine. Located in the heart of the capital of São Miguel, Alcides is internationally recognised for its regional steak, made from beef from an indigenous breed raised in the island's lush pastures and seasoned with the iconic Azores herb butter.

The interior combines classic and welcoming decoration with attentive service reflecting decades of Azorean hospitality tradition. The menu goes beyond the famous steak, also offering fresh fish dishes, seafood and traditional desserts such as regional apple pudding and little cheeses from heaven. The wine list includes local production options, notably Pico wines, with protected designation of origin.

The average price per person is between 25 and 40 euros, including appetiser, main course and dessert. Advance reservation is strongly advised, especially during peak season from June to September and on weekends. The restaurant is located just a few minutes walk from the Doors of the City, making it an excellent option before or after exploring the historic centre of Ponta Delgada.
