Portรฃo Viewpoint is one of the most beautiful and least-visited landscape observation points on the entire island of Corvo. Located on the south slope of the island, at an altitude of approximately 200 metres, this viewpoint offers a privileged view over Porto da Casa, Corvo's only port structure, and the vast Atlantic extending towards the islands of Flores, visible on clear days about 24 km to the southeast. The natural frame formed by black basalt cliffs and low vegetation in golden and green tones creates a rare and very photogenic colour contrast.

Access is via a dirt rural path, partially accessible to four-wheel-drive vehicles, from Vila do Corvo. On foot, the hike takes about 30 to 40 minutes and can be combined with the start of the Trail of the Coast of Corvo. There are no tourism facilities at the site โ€” no formal parking area, no shop, no signage โ€” which contributes to its absolute authenticity and tranquility. Admission is free. The sunset, when the sky ignites with oranges and reds over the Atlantic, is the most spectacular time to visit.

The viewpoint is also an excellent point for observing seabirds, with frequent sightings of cagarro (Calonectris borealis) and red-billed tropicbird (Phaethon aethereus) in the updrafts next to the cliffs. For enthusiasts of adventure and landscape photography, Portรฃo Viewpoint is an absolutely mandatory stop on a visit to Corvo.
