Corvo-Flores Boat Trip

The Corvo-Flores Boat Trip is one of the most authentic and memorable maritime experiences in the Azores. This crossing between the two islands of the western group of the archipelago — separated by just 24 km of open Atlantic — is much more than a simple transfer: it is an immersion into the isolation and grandeur of the ocean that shaped the identity of Corvo's people for centuries. During the crossing, dolphin sightings are frequent (mainly common dolphins and spotted dolphins), and in favourable seasons also sperm whales and beaked whales. Seabirds — cagarro, red-billed tropicbird and occasionally Bulwer's petrels — frequently accompany the vessels. Combine the crossing with a visit to Flores and return the same day to keep Corvo as your base, taking advantage of the Trail of the Caldera the next morning.
